Doctors, Lawyers, and the Cost of Regulatory Compliance

A conversation with Kathleen Quiroz, an attorney specializing in health care law at the San Antonio law firm of Strasburger Price Oppenheimer Blend.

Quiroz is the firm’s Health Care & Life Science Group Leader. Her primary focus is on the regulatory aspects of health care law; fraud and abuse; and federal and state regulation of HMOs, PPOs and approved non-profit health corporations. She also helps clients with the business aspects of health care law, including the formation of group practices and the purchase and sale of private medical practices.

A graduate of The University of Texas School of Law who did her undergraduate work at Yale, Quiroz is a member of the San Antonio Healthcare Think Tank and serves on the UT Health Science Center San Antonio’s Planned Giving Advisory Council. She also is a frequent author and lecturer on health care law.

In March 2012, thetexaseconomy.com met with Quiroz in her San Antonio office to discuss her work and some of the trends she has been observing in Texas health care.
